Residents and commuters in Norman are getting ready to navigate construction as SAC Services, INC takes on the storm sewer replacement project on West Boyd Street. From tomorrow, the familiar thoroughfare between South Pickard Avenue and College Avenue will witness the inception of a 120-day upheaval that is bound to temporarily reroute regular traffic patterns. Details released by the City of Norman highlight that during the construction, West Boyd Street will not be open to thru-traffic.
It is integral to the community's fabric to maintain access for locals to their properties, and efforts shall be made to ensure so, barring moments of inevitable direct interference with the construction. SAC Services, INC has pledged to directly communicate with affected property owners, thereby minimizing potential inconvenience. Residents are urged, however, to begin to familiarize themselves with alternate transport routes to alleviate some of the impending travel disruptions.
In preparation, the government recommends that drivers should plan to adjust their commutes accordingly. The temporary inconvenience promises to yield long-term benefits to Norman's stormwater management system. To keep up to date with the project's progression and to seek alternative routes, concerned residents and travelers can refer to updates posted by the City of Norman.
