
A 17-year-old boy has been apprehended and charged with the attempted murder of a younger teenager near two schools in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood. According to CBS Chicago, the suspect is facing one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and one felony count of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm.
The incident occurred earlier this month on May 7, moments before 3:30 p.m., close to Ida B. Wells Preparatory Elementary School and Wendell Phillips Academy High School, as students were being dismissed for the day.
