
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has ruled the death of 16-year-old Jamariyee Dixon as a homicide. Marion McKnight, 20, has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to the case.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Dixon was pronounced dead at Atrium Health on Tuesday. Following an investigation, police identified McKnight as a suspect, obtained a warrant, and took him into custody. McKnight was interviewed by detectives before being transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Dixon’s family has been notified of his death and the arrest. The investigation remains active, and police are continuing to gather information.
