
Authorities have apprehended a man linked to the sexual assault of a 14-year-old girl in Queens. Angel Ramos, 23, faced arrest and numerous charges including second degree rape and aggravated sexual abuse. According to a report by ABC7 New York, Ramos was taken into custody on Friday.
The young girl's ordeal, ABC7 New York reports involved multiple assaults. The police, now are reaching out to the public, urging potential victims to step forward and contact their sex crimes hotline. Ramos faces additional charges of forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
Further details emerged from a New York Post article, which revealed the accused met the victim at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church in East Elmhurst. The girl, who reported the abuse on April 25, claimed that Ramos raped her at least four times, beginning on April 16 within the premises of the church.
After his arraignment on May 4, where he was hit with four counts of rape among other charges, Ramos posted a $50,000 bail. As the New York Post reported, the NYPD has widened its request for information, presenting several avenues for other victims to come forward, including the Sex Crimes Hotline and the Crime Stoppers Hotline, as well as online portals for submitting tips.
