
A 64-year-old man was hospitalized this week after sustaining injuries from a fall while hiking in Davis County. The incident occurred on Monday when the man, who was accompanied by his family, fell approximately 20 feet off the lower waterfall in Adams Canyon, as reported by KSL.
According to Davis County sheriff's spokeswoman Stephanie Dinsmore, a nurse and other bystanders immediately began to provide aid until emergency responders arrived. Rescue crews, including the Layton Fire Department, Davis County Sheriff’s Office, and Davis County Search and Rescue, were quick to respond to the scene. The Layton Fire Department shared via a social media post that the injured man was hoisted by a medical helicopter to the parking lot and was then transferred to a nearby hospital by ambulance, as obtained by KSLTV.
Details on the man's specific injuries were not immediately available. The rescue operation highlighted the collaboration among multiple agencies and the importance of community assistance in emergencies. "We’re grateful for the quick actions of bystanders and the teamwork among all responding agencies," the fire department stated, as per KUTV.
