
A tragic turn of events unfolded in Somerset County, as authorities delved into the details of a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 72-year-old driver. Maryland State Police reported the collision involving two vehicles near Ocean Highway and Flower Hill Church Road.
The incident, which took place shortly before 5:30 p.m., resulted in the death of a Kia Soul driver after an attempted cross of the southbound lanes. A passenger in the Kia was in critical enough condition to require airlift by the Maryland State Police Aviation Command to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Another passenger, as well as the Jeep's driver, sustained injuries that led to their hospitalization via ambulance.
