A tragic collision in Madison Heights has taken the life of an 82-year-old motorcyclist after an SUV driven by a 79-year-old woman turned into his path. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon at approximately 2 p.m., near the intersection of John R Road and Ajax Drive. According to Audacy, the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Further reporting by ClickOnDetroit confirmed that the woman was making a left turn from the southbound lane into a private driveway when the collision occurred. The SUV intersected with a northbound motorcycle, resulting in a crash that led to fatal injuries. The police have stated that the SUV driver is cooperating with the investigation and that alcohol is not believed to have played a role in the incident.
The Oakland Press identified the victim as Daniel Conrad, a resident of Algonac. He was taken to Henry Ford Hospital in Madison Heights following the accident. Lt.
