Akron-Canton Airport is set to see an expansion in its service offerings this year, thanks to Breeze Airways' decision to connect travelers to six new destinations. The new flights, which will commence in the fall, include attractive Florida locations and a city in North Carolina, as Cleveland 19 reported.
Travelers in the region can look forward to direct connections to Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale from the beginning of September, with fares starting as low as $49 one-way, according to Breeze. In addition, the airline is introducing BreezeThru services to Fort Lauderdale, Key West, and West Palm Beach, enabling passengers to fly without changing planes despite making a stop. The Fox 8 report outlines these services as being available on varying days of the week, catering to weekend getaways and weekday travels.
With Breeze Airways' expanded flight schedule from Akron-Canton Airport, destinations like Jacksonville, Florida, and Wilmington, North Carolina, will also be accessible. Notably, the low-cost carrier has announced its new crew base at the airport, which is projected to bring more than 60 jobs to the community over the next three years, News 5 Cleveland details.
Following the addition of these routes, Breeze expects a growing number of Northeast Ohioans to opt for their services for their vacation and business needs. Prices for these new routes start at $49, drawing in budget-conscious flyers seeking warmer climates or a quick escape to the coast. In the words of a Breeze official obtained by News 5 Cleveland, the expansion is a significant development for the airline and the community it serves.
