The driver, Victoria Vidal of Akron, age 55, complied with the officer and was detained.
The surprise came, not with what they found in her car, but rather who they saw — a raccoon, known as "Chewy," sitting casually in the driver's seat holding a meth pipe. The discovery prompted officers to conduct a more thorough search on Vidal's vehicle, unearthing a substantial stash of illegal substances, ranging from methamphetamine to crack cocaine, and several used meth pipes. Vidal was subsequently charged with various drug possession and paraphernalia counts.
