The City of Arlington is set to take a day off in honor of Memorial Day, with officials confirming a swath of facility closures for the holiday. As outlined by the city's Office of Communication, Arlington City Hall, the Municipal Court, and multiple other public service locations will close their doors on May 26.
However, it shouldn't disrupt Arlington residents' daily routines too much. Trash and recycling services will continue without interruption on Memorial Day. The essential waste management operations are often unnoticed yet indispensably intertwined with the city's pulse.
Facilities such as Arlington On-Demand and local recreation centers will remain accessible, offering limited hours for those seeking a bit of leisure or transit on their day off. Interestingly, the East Library and Recreation Center is among the few departmental locales to stay open, albeit with shortened operational hours for its library and pool.
This year's scheduled closures align with those of previous years, maintaining a consistent approach for public accessibility during nationally observed holidays. As indicated by the City of Arlington, residents can anticipate a return to regular service schedules on May 27. For those looking to indulge in some outdoor activities, golf and athletic centers, including Meadowbrook Golf Course and Elzie Odom Athletic Center, will welcome visitors at allocated times.
