Arlington-based entrepreneur Bryant "Griff" Griffith, a former U.S. Marine, has tailored a business model around community service with his venture, JAWS Junk & Waste Solutions. In a recent article by the City of Arlington, JAWS' mission shines through as a beacon of sustainable practices, aiming to repurpose and recycle items typically doomed for the landfill.
Griffith's past could be best described as a tableau of military discipline – ten years in the Marine Corps, punctuated with tours overseas. By his own admission, the return to civilian life was fraught with challenges. "The one thing that was the hardest and to work through, was that search of purpose and connecting to the community," Griffith stated, per the city's press release.
This venture has also proven to be a robust contributor to Arlington's local economy and society. Griffith enthusiastically espouses the local opportunities for veterans, stating, "I’m very proud and excited to be a veteran in Arlington." He perceives Arlington as a fertile ground for business, family, and community growth, affirming "The American Dream to me is all about having the opportunity, not just in business, but to raise your family and build and grow community with one another," as per his conversation with the City of Arlington.
