There's a new sports sensation in Arlington, and her name is Cameron "Cami" Helbing, who just snagged the title of Student-Athlete of the Month for May 2025, as Arlington celebrates some of its brightest young stars. Helbing, a junior at Arlington High School, has demonstrated her athletic prowess across the board. not just dominating the flag football scene but also showing her skills in volleyball, basketball, and softball, proving herself to be a true multi-sport dynamo.
Head Flag Football Coach Brooke Kolanek couldn't contain her enthusiasm when talking about Helbing's impact on the team and went so far as to call her "definitely, the heart of the team" every time she takes to the field it's like there's a magnetic field around her, drawing in teammates with her invigorating presence, they're all cheering her louder than a rocket launch at NASA, according to a statement on the City of Arlington's official website.
Cami Helbing isn't just looking to leave her mark on the field, she has her eyes set on a bright future beyond high school with plans to attend Tarrant County College and dive into a major in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, which might seem like a departure from smashing volleys and touchdown runs, but it speaks to the depth and ambition present in today's student-athletes.
