The recently renovated Northeast Branch Library is ready to open its doors again. According to an official update from Steven McQuay of Arlington Public Library, patrons can expect to access all usual services starting yesterday. The brief closure, which began last Monday, allowed for a complete overhaul of the library's carpets, aiming to create a more inviting atmosphere for the community.
Even during the renovation process, the library remained partially operational. "While this work was underway, most of the Northeast Branch was temporarily closed for approximately one week beginning Monday, April 28, 2025," McQuay stated, according to the City of Arlington news release.
For those who still need to continue their literary adventures uninterrupted, alternative locations such as the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, East Library and Recreation Center, and Woodland West Branch have served the community with extended hours and a full range of services.
