The man accused of murdering Cleveland Clinic nurse Aliza Sherman in 2013 has been returned to Ohio, as per multiple reports. Gregory Moore, 51, who was Sherman's divorce attorney at the time of her death, was extradited over the weekend from Williamson County, Texas, to Cuyahoga County. According to the FOX 8 I-Team, Moore was secretly indicted by a Cuyahoga County Grand Jury on May 2.
After being held without bond in Texas, Moore waived his right to an extradition hearing earlier this month. As Cleveland 19 reported, this led to Cuyahoga County officials transporting him within the stipulated 30 days. As of Saturday, the Cuyahoga County Jail now houses Moore.
Sherman was brutally stabbed outside of Moore's law office in Erieview Plaza on March 24, 2013, following which she managed to contact the police. Tragically, despite the efforts of a good Samaritan who discovered her and provided prompt transportation to a hospital, Sherman succumbed to her injuries. The News5Cleveland notes Moore's arrest near Austin, Texas, on May 2, twelve years after the unsolved case.
Details surrounding the indictment reveal that Moore is facing charges that include aggravated murder, conspiracy, six counts of murder, and two counts of kidnapping, stemming from allegations that he was not ready to take Sherman's divorce case to trial and opted to kill her instead. Cuyahoga County officials promised that more information would be released soon. Authorities had Moore brought back to Northeast Ohio, receiving booking into the Cuyahoga County Corrections Center.
