In a somber development from the Spring area, a husband and wife were found deceased with multiple gunshot wounds. According to KHOU, the bodies were discovered on Friday in their Fitzwater Drive residence. Harris County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the case as a double homicide.
Authorities were called to the 4000 block of Fitzwater Drive at around 7:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Neighbors indicated to law enforcement that they had heard gunshots on the night prior to the grim discovery. However, the exact timing of the shots heard was not confirmed. Both the man and the woman, reported to be in their 50s, were found at the scene with multiple gunshot wounds, as stated by ABC13.
Evidence of forced entry was visible, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office noting damage to the back door of the property. Sheriff Ed Gonzalez shared via social media that "It is unclear what the motive for the murder was and no suspects have been identified at this time." The neighbors, who were first to find the couple, explained they went to check on the victims after hearing the previous night's gunshots, as per KHOU.
While the investigation unfolds, the identities of the deceased have been withheld, pending notification of next of kin. Sheriff Gonzalez assured that information would be forthcoming once familial notifications have been completed.
