Authorities in Baltimore have taken into custody a 23-year-old Baltimore County man, Denis Deras-Aldana, in connection with an April shooting that left a man wounded. The incident unfolded on April 28 in the Southeast District, where a nighttime dispute escalated into gunfire in the 6400 block of O'Donnell Street.

According to FOX Baltimore, the response to the sounds of shots being fired brought officers to the scene shortly after 1:40 a.m. There, they discovered a male victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot injury. The victim was soon transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation into the shooting, detectives narrowed in on Deras-Aldana as a suspect. Nearly three weeks after the incident last Sunday, Deras-Aldana was arrested and faced charges including attempted first-degree murder and handgun violations. Baltimore Witness reported that the 28-year-old victim had been shot after a confrontation with Deras-Aldana.
