A 17-year-old student at Belleview High School in Marion County was arrested for allegedly bringing a gun to school property, as reported by the Marion County Sheriff's Office. The incident unfolded yesterday after a fellow student informed the School Resource Officer that the minor had a firearm, which he displayed from his vehicle in the school's parking lot, according to WFTV.
After being alerted, deputies arrived and were permitted to search the student’s vehicle; nevertheless, they did not immediately find the firearm. Later, a student's tip led deputies back to the scene, where they discovered a path worn into the woods adjacent to the suspect’s vehicle. There, wrapped in a black t-shirt, was the gun in question, WFTV reported. The suspect, identified by ClickOrlando as Camren Moisell, was removed from class for questioning, during which he spontaneously admitted to bringing the weapon on campus.
Moisell was arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail before being transferred to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
