The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is currently on the hunt for a 21-year-old male, Rolando Tello, who is charged with the sexual assault of a child. Detailed in a recent statement by the office, Tello has been identified as the primary suspect in an assault that occurred last month. According to FOX 7 Austin, the incident was first reported to authorities following a visit to Northeast Medical Hospital on April 26.
Electronic evidence uncovered by investigators has confirmed that Tello assaulted the victim. The minor, whose identity remains protected, disclosed to authorities that they initially met Tello through the social media platform Instagram, before proceeding to exchange phone numbers—a behavior that deputies have characterized as potential grooming. Despite an arrest warrant being promptly filed against him, Tello has seemingly fled to evade capture by law enforcement, as they discovered upon visiting his home. "An arrest warrant was filed, but when they went to his home, they learned Tello left to evade law enforcement," as noted by FOX 7 Austin.
Further information shared via a Facebook post from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office corroborated the nature of Tello's charges. It was there that the Sheriff's Office emphasized the severity of the case, stating, "The victim told investigators she met Tello through Instagram and communicated with him before exchanging phone numbers, which is indicative of grooming behavior by the suspect," as mentioned in a report by KSAT. This narrative is further supported by the minor’s own account given to Live Oak police and BCSO Child Safe investigators on April 28.
The Bexar County Sheriff's Office is urging the public to actively come forward with any information that may lead to locating Tello. Community members who wish to assist are encouraged to contact the office anonymously. "If you or someone you know has any information on his whereabouts, you can contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office anonymously by calling 210-335-6000 or email [email protected]," was reported by KSAT. The Sheriff's Office is hoping that with public assistance they may swiftly apprehend the suspect and ensure the safety and justice for the victim.
