
Lancaster, California, has become the scene of a grisly discovery after Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies found a body inside the back of a U-Haul truck. According to NBC Los Angeles, the body of the male adult was located inside an open trash bin in the truck on Sunday morning, leading to an ongoing investigation.
Early reports indicate that deputies were initially called out to the Shadow Park Inn Motel for a welfare check on a missing person. Almost immediately after, they observed a U-Haul truck exiting the motel premises at approximately 1:49 a.m. The aforementioned truck was eventually found on Beech Avenue, not far from the motel. Inside, the shocking sight of a man's lifeless body tucked away in a trash bin added new layers of concern and urgency to their mission.
In connection with this incident, multiple individuals have been detained, though their involvement in the case remains unclear. FOX LA reports that the detentions occurred both at the motel where the missing person report originated and at the location where the U-Haul was found. However, it has not been disclosed if any arrests have been made following these apprehensions.
The identity of the deceased, along with the cause of death, is still pending as investigations continue. The LA County Medical Examiner-Coroner will facilitate in determining the specifics of how the man died. Meanwhile, officials are urging anyone with information related to this case to come forward.
