Community and law enforcement came together in West Roxbury as officers from District E-5 lent their support to the Rose’s Bounty Food Pantry Annual Walk for Hunger, an event that underscores a continuous fight against hunger in Massachusetts. Local participants took steps both literal and figurative in a two-mile journey through the neighborhood, their presence a tapestry of solidarity interwoven with the streets they walked upon.
The annual walk, aimed at raising awareness and funds for the hungry, saw officers from the Boston Police Department's Community Service Office boost safety and camaraderie; they assisted with traffic, made sure the event went smoothly, and they were engaging with participants, chatting and cheering them on throughout the day.
The officers' presence was not just mere oversight but an active participation in uplifting community endeavors, their blue uniforms among the crowd a stitch in the neighborhood's multicolored fabric.
