Tragedy struck a family in Boulder County when their home was engulfed by flames yesterday. According to the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, multiple fire agencies were called to the 500 block of Crescent Lake Road in Coal Creek Canyon to battle a residential structure fire. The call came in around 4:20 p.m., bringing first responders from across the county to the scene.
The homeowners, who were not home when the fire initially sparked, returned to discover the devastation. Despite efforts to quickly control the blaze, the main structure was declared a total loss, leaving only the garage standing. Heartbreakingly, the family also lost their two pets, one dog and one cat, in the fire. Boulder County victim advocates and the American Red Cross are now working to provide the necessary support and resources to the family affected.
Firefighters from Coal Creek Canyon Fire Rescue stayed the night, monitoring for flare-ups and ensuring the community's safety. The response saw the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Timberline Fire Protection District, Nederland Fire Protection District, and the Boulder Emergency Squad coming together in a display of inter-agency cooperation.
