For a third year running, Bowling Green State University's graphic design program has proved its mettle by being named a top design school by Graphic Design USA. The publication's 2025 roundup shined a spotlight on BGSU for offering a robust education in the field, one that expertly prepares its students for the diverse paths that await them in the professional world.
BGSU's program stands out with innovative classroom experiences, guided internships, and an engaged alumni network, ensuring that students aren't just navigating theory but are forging connections destined to influence the trajectory of their burgeoning careers. This isn't just a pat on the back for BGSU, it's a testament to the institution's capacity to bridge the gap between academic pursuits and real-world applications—a bridge that only three public universities in Ohio managed to cross this year.
The accolades from Graphic Design USA are rooted in no short measure to the comprehensive and methodical approach adopted by the BGSU graphic design faculty. "Helping students develop their curiosity and their creativity in the right way is an important aspect of our program, as our students find themselves in many different types of positions after graduation," Graphic Design Chair and Professor Jenn Stucker said in an interview with BGSU's news publication. She emphasizes the versatility and impact of the careers her students embark upon with titles far surpassing that of simply 'graphic designer'.
