Earlier today, a collision involving three vehicles in Brazoria County resulted in at least one person being airlifted to the hospital for treatment. According to KPRC 2, the accident occurred near Pearland Airport at the intersection of Highway 6 and Dixie Farm Road and involved two cars, and a cement truck. The flow of traffic was disrupted as a result of the incident, with roadways blocked off as emergency services responded.
The specific details of how the crash unfolded remain sparse, but the Texas DPS confirmed the participation of the three vehicles in the accident. An aerial view captured by Sky 2 showed the severe impact on traffic, with law enforcement and medical personnel on the scene.
The highway which had been closed due to the SH 35 crash was reopened around 1:16 p.m. once the initial investigation and clean-up operations were completed. While the cause of either crash is yet to be confirmed, county officials were able to provide some reassurance by noting that, aside from the individual airlifted, all other injuries from these unfortunate incidents were non-life-threatening.
