The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office has identified another suspect in a harrowing incident that left a child wounded. Lynnard Woods is being sought after a shootout outside Cocoa Meat & Produce on May 13, which ended with a 1-year-old being shot in the leg while nestled in a stroller. ClickOrlando reported that three individuals pulled up and opened fire, engaging with a 17-year-old who was accompanying a woman and her child.
Investigators stated that the teen identified one of the armed individuals, with whom he had had previous altercations with his brother. With over 70 calls to service at the same location in the past year, according to ClickOrlando, the store has been a nexus of violence, including three separate shootings. The deputies have not disclosed the exact role Woods played in the shootout.
In an ongoing effort to apprehend those responsible, the Brevard County Sheriff's Office has thus far charged three individuals in connection with the shooting. JeMarcus Edwards is among those arrested, as noted in a piece by WESH. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is earnestly appealing to the public for help to bring Woods into custody.
