Over nearly four months, Brewer High School students got a taste of firefighting firsthand through a partnership with the White Settlement Fire Department (WSFD). Eleven students from the school's Career and Technical Education (CTE) program joined the fire service professionals at WSFD, taking part in an immersive learning experience designed to introduce them to a career in public safety. WSFD's social media post revealed the details of this endeavor, noting that the students were engaged in daily activities and hands-on training alongside on-duty fire crews from January 21 to April 14.
These high schoolers immersed themselves in the rhythms of the firehouse while they learned about the fire apparatus and what a typical day looks like in the fire service.
