
In the early hours of Sunday, a street racing incident in Brooklyn Park resulted in a high-speed chase and crash, with one driver evading police capture. According to a report from the Brooklyn Park Police Department, a patrolling officer spotted two vehicles engaged in apparent drag racing at about 3:46 am near the intersection of Zane Avenue North and Oak Grove Parkway.
When the officer initiated a traffic stop, one of the vehicles sped away, leading to a pursuit westbound on Oak Grove Parkway, during which the fleeing driver collided with another vehicle at 96th Lane. The driver responsible for the accident abandoned their vehicle and fled the scene on foot, eluding law enforcement, while the other driver was transported to a local hospital suffering from non-life-threatening injuries, according to the police statement. The collision and its circumstances prompted an ongoing investigation.
