Last week's double stabbing in Concord took a significant turn as the Concord Police Department (CPD) patrol officers were called to the scene of a violent altercation on Willow Pass Road near Market Street. Two individuals were assaulted in what was revealed to be a dispute over graffiti tagging purportedly between rival gang members. The CPD updated the public on the progress of the case, noting that the incident occurred last Tuesday.
In the course of their investigation, the CPD Violence Suppression Unit detectives identified two brothers, Cristian Cobos, 25, and Ramon Cobos, 22, as the primary suspects. Residing in Fairfield, the brothers were arrested by detectives with assistance from the Fairfield Police Department last Tuesday morning. Alongside the arrest, a search warrant was executed in Fairfield, as mentioned in a social media post from Concord Police Department.
Further developing, the Contra Costa District Attorney's Office filed attempted murder charges against both Cristian and Ramon Cobos yesterday. With the suspects now facing serious legal repercussions, the gravity of the situation is undeniable. According to the Concord Police, "Last week, on May 6, Concord Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of two people who had been stabbed."
Reporting on the charges, "Yesterday, the Contra Costa District Attorney’s Office filed attempted murder charges on both suspects," said the CPD in their latest update on the case.
