The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office has announced its participation in this year's Safetypup® Program, a child safety and drug prevention initiative spearheaded by the National Child Safety Council (NCSC), as reported in a recent Facebook post by the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office. Aimed at educating children between the ages of five and twelve throughout Cabarrus County, the program provides crucial resources to promote safer living and drug-free choices among the youth.
An integral part of the campaign is the NCSC's Safetypup® mascot, a familiar and comforting figure that has graced the sides of milk cartons reminding us of the vital need for child safety, the Sheriff's Office post detailed this campaign's importance and, it also sought financial contributions from community leaders and residents to bolster and maintain the outreach and materials provided to children. Since its establishment in 1985, the NCSC, a prolific not-for-profit, has pioneered numerous child safety programs with the Safetypup® being a hallmark of its longstanding commitment to the protection and education of young ones.
To support the Safetypup® Program's success, the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office is openly inviting donations, as they have gratefully acknowledged past support from community partners which has been essential in previous years, as per their solicitation for contributions, "If you are interested in supporting this vital program, please send your donation to: The Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office – P.O. Box 525 – Concord, NC 28026-0525, attention: Sheriff Van W. Shaw. Please make your checks payable to the National Child Safety Council." The funds raised will help to continue providing the youth with valuable instruction on safety measures and the risks of drug use in an engaging and effective manner.
