A Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office deputy sustained injuries following a vehicle chase last Thursday. According to CBS Austin, during the chase of a felony suspect, the deputy’s car veered off the road at S. Colorado Street and Blackjack Street.
Working in cooperation with the Lockhart Police Department, the deputy endeavored to apprehend a suspect now being held at the Caldwell County Jail. In the midst of the pursuit, which involved no other vehicles or civilian casualties, the deputy’s vehicle departed from the path that it was expected to, and an accident ensued. The deputy was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, explained KXAN.
The identities of neither the injured deputy nor the pursued individual were released immediately after the event; further details on those involved have yet to be disclosed by authorities. The situation, seemingly under control now, left one law enforcement officer hospitalized and a suspect in custody, highlighting the unexpected perils that can arise during routine criminal pursuits.
