With the onset of summer, Camp T.N. Spencer Park is inviting everyone to take a dip as their pool reopens this Memorial Day weekend. Grab your towels and shades; the opening day is slated for Saturday at 10 a.m., giving families and friends a fresh way to beat the heat.
Visitors looking to cool off will find the pool's weekend and holiday hours to extend from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and for those who prefer weekdays, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. And, demonstrating a consciousness for safety, Cabarrus County has partnered with Active Living and Parks and Information Technology to install weather stations complete with lightning detectors, sirens, and strobe lights that activate in the event of a storm.
Easing access to some cool fun, reservations for the pool can be secured at $5 per day. Offering convenience to residents, those interested can either walk in or pre-register online by navigating to the county's Active Living and Parks site, clicking the "Register for a Program or Event" link, and then selecting the "Park Programs" tab. Here, you'll find the pool option under Camp T.N. Spencer, where reservations are managed on a first-come, first-served basis and, once made, are good for the whole day.
For those planning to bring refreshments, be advised only baby supplies are an exception to the no cooler policy—and leave glass at home. But do not worry about going hungry; concessions are ready to keep hunger at bay.
