
Gearing up for a good cause, the City of Carrollton is hosting the second annual Tails & Trails 5K event on Saturday, June 7 at 8 a.m., providing an opportunity for both two and four-legged participants to enjoy Carrollton’s extensive hike and bike trails. Runners, walkers, and their canine companions are all welcome to participate in either the 5K race or the 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk, which will follow shortly after the main event starts, according to the City of Carrollton.
The race is not only a celebration of community and canine companionship, but it's also a fundraiser with all net proceeds benefiting the Carrollton Animal Services & Adoption Center, the folks who register before Monday, June 2 will get a better deal and you're guaranteed a race bag, a T-shirt, and a timing chip for the 5K challenge after that date, any registration changes will come with a $5 fee. The check-in and bus transportation to the start line at Creekview High School will commence on race day at 7 a.m., with a warmup session preceding the 8 a.m. kick-off.
Once participants cross the finish line, they can look forward to a post-race celebration featuring games, music, an awards ceremony, and an array of vendors. The awards will honor top finishers across various age categories, and refreshing amenities await all those who partake. Participants with furry companions should note that while dogs are heartily encouraged to attend, they do not require registration for the event.
