In a somber revelation by the Montgomery County Department of Police, the victim of a recent homicide has been identified as 24-year-old Brianna Burton of Centreville, VA, after she was pronounced dead at White Oak Medical Center, the official report described, following an incident that occurred on April 27.
Officers had responded to a call at around 7:20 a.m. upon which they discovered the victim had been dropped off at the emergency room with gunshot wounds, the suspect had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, and through their investigation, it was concluded the shooting took place in Prince George’s County which led to the case being transferred to the Prince George’s County Police Department's Homicide Unit the subsequent day.
Significant progress in the case was made when Rogerio Palma, a 32-year-old resident of College Park, was arrested by PGPD on April 29 and now faces charges of first and second-degree murder among related offenses linked to Burton's tragic death. The Montgomery County Police state Palma's arrest detailed the close of a search that commenced immediately after the incident had been reported.
