For residents of Chandler looking for a deeper understanding of their city's inner workings, the city is bringing back the Code Enforcement Resident Academy for a three-week session starting June 11. The academy was a hit when it launched earlier this year, and now it's offering fresh opportunities for more residents to get in on the know-how.
Interested locals can join the free sessions, which will take place at the ASU Chandler Innovation Center located at 249 E. Chicago St. They're scheduled for June 11, June 18, and June 26, between 4:00–5:30 p.m., as stated in a news release by the City of Chandler.
The agenda is to have insight into property maintenance, common code violations, and the overall community standards maintenance routine. The program is designed to educate but also to empower, enabling residents to take a more active role in preserving the neighborhoods they dwell in.
"The level of interest blew us away, and since then, we’ve received multiple inquiries for its return," Neighborhood Services Program Manager Erica Barba waxed in the announcement. Attendees who sit through all three classes can throw their hat in the ring for a prize drawing, adding a little extra incentive to complete the course.
Those ready to sign up can head to the Code Enforcement Resident Academy. Questions can be fielded to Erica Barba at the Neighborhood Resources Department, just dial 480-782-4328.
