Charlotte residents can expect the sun to dominate the sky today with temperatures climbing to a comfortable 86 degrees, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). Morning patchy fog is set to clear quickly, giving way to mostly sunny conditions, with a light breeze picking up and potential gusts reaching 18 mph. The evening will bring a slight shift, introducing more clouds and a mild low around 69 degrees.
The rest of the week looks similarly temperate with Friday heating up to near 90 degrees. Winds will remain light but expect them to change direction slightly to west southwest. NWS reports that come Saturday, Charlotte could see a slight chance of showers and the possibility of thunderstorms post 9 am. The weekend forecast? Partly sunny with a high around 89 degrees, making it near perfect for any outdoor plans. However, gusts on Saturday might just manage to break the calm, with gusts as high as 25 mph in the forecast.
Looking ahead, the outlook for next week remains mostly favorable with highs consistently grazing the mid to upper 80s. Nights offer a respite with temperatures dipping into the low to mid-60s under partly cloudy skies. But it’s not all clear skies – Wednesday ushers in a 40 percent chance of showers, reminding us that spring’s volatility is never quite distant.
While no hazardous weather is expected for today and tonight, the upcoming days suggest a hint of unpredictability. A "marginal risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts" is on the cards for late Friday night through Saturday as stated by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC.
