Residents and stakeholders in Charlotte County will need to wait longer for updates on the proposed Rural Settlement Area Overlay District (RSAOD). The land use amendment, listed as Application Number TCP-24-04, was originally scheduled for review at the June 10, Regular & Land Use agenda but has now been postponed.

According to the Charlotte County website, "The proposed amendment for the Rural Settlement Area Overlay District (RSAOD), listed as Application Number TCP-24-04, has been delayed at the request of the applicant." The applicant requested more time to revise the proposal following questions and concerns raised during the May 12 Plan Commission meeting.

No new date has been set for the transmittal hearing. When scheduled, the county will provide notice at least 15 days in advance via its website. Property owners and residents within 1,000 feet of the affected area will receive a postcard at least 30 days before the rescheduled hearing.
