
A fatal motorcycle crash occurred early Friday morning last week on North Hoskins Road. According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), the victim, identified as 32-year-old Marquise Antonio Stanley, was found unresponsive near his 2011 Yamaha motorcycle. CMPD Freedom Division officers responded to a call around 6:30 a.m. reporting a man lying in the roadway.
Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Preliminary findings indicate that the motorcycle struck a utility pole. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with speed or impairment not yet ruled out. Toxicology results are pending.
The CMPD Major Crash Investigation Unit, supported by Crime Scene Search teams, continues to collect evidence from the crash site in the 400 block of North Hoskins Road. Updates will be provided by the CMPD Public Affairs Division as new information becomes available.
Stanley’s family has been notified.
