
Charlotte's North Tryon Division has become the focus of a homicide investigation after an 18-year-old male was found with a fatal gunshot wound. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has identified the victim as Kamorrie Prather, as confirmed on their official newsroom page. The CMPD also stated that Mr. Prather's next of kin have been notified.
The incident occurred in the 3600 block of Frew Road on the morning of last Saturday. A call reporting an accident with injury brought officers to the scene at approximately 11:00 a.m. They soon discovered the victim already suffering from his injuries. MEDIC transported Prather to Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, as noted in the CMPD's press release.
Detective Condron has been assigned as the lead detective on the case. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
