
On Wednesday evening, a young child was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of West Lake Mead Boulevard and Jeanne Drive in Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, a 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor was traveling west on Lake Mead Boulevard when the child ran into the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.
Erika Uriarte-Andalon, 51, from Las Vegas, was driving the Mitsubishi. She showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with authorities. She stayed at the scene while emergency responders took the 4-year-old boy to the University Medical Center's Trauma Center for urgent treatment of his critical injuries. Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to come forward, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
