Early last Saturday morning, a verbal dispute in Citrus Heights led to a stabbing near Greenback Lane and Auburn Boulevard. The victim, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital with multiple stab wounds. The injuries are serious but not expected to be fatal, as reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The Citrus Heights Police Department said on social media that detectives from the General Investigations and POP units acted quickly on the case. Austin Carson, 27, a probationer described as homeless, was identified as a suspect in the altercation. An attempted murder warrant was issued, and Carson was arrested by IMPACT Detectives on Wednesday. He was booked into the Sacramento County Jail, "where he's being held without bail."
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department on their Facebook page, the investigation into the stabbing is ongoing. “We’re asking for the public’s help. If you witnessed this incident or have any information that could aid this case—or any other investigation—please contact us,” the post states. The department also said, “Your information, no matter how small, could be vital in helping with this case.”
