In Citrus Heights, CHPD IMPACT Detectives and Sacramento County Probation Officers arrested 44-year-old Jason Hulsey during a routine enforcement operation. They seized over 32 grams of fentanyl and 25 illegal fireworks, as reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
Hulsey is facing felony charges for possessing fentanyl with the intent to sell. He is also being charged under the city's fireworks ordinance, which carries fines of up to $1,000 for each illegal firework. The total fines could reach $25,000 for his property, as stated by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
According to the Citrus Heights Police Department on their Facebook page, illegal fireworks pose dangers and carry increased penalties for repeat offenses. Property owners or hosts can be held liable for allowing fireworks on their premises. Citizens are encouraged to report illegal fireworks using the City See-Click-Fix app or the police department’s website. The post stated, "Let's keep Citrus Heights safe."
