The City of Hilliard has expanded its team with a new hire: Michael Rebar, a full-time Engineering Technician. Rebar's main responsibilities will include overseeing the City’s right-of-way permits and contributing to the maintenance and construction of various public infrastructure projects, such as roads, sidewalks, and utility systems.

“I’m really excited to get into the right-of-way inspection and permitting world,” Michael confessed in a statement obtained by the City of Hilliard's official news release. He expressed enthusiasm for learning the ins and outs of the field, as well as for the opportunity to witness and contribute to the growth of Hilliard. With a background as a geotechnical consultant in Dublin, Michael has already familiarized himself with the city by working on field analyses for an Amazon data center.

Michael brings with him a breadth of experience from his last three years as a municipal consultant, during which time he designed a range of civil infrastructure, from storm sewers to roadways for smaller villages.

When he's not entrenched in the complexities of engineering, Michael pursues a life filled with diverse activities. A dedicated biker and CrossFit enthusiast, he finds balance in volunteering at a local cat shelter and unwinding on the ice hockey rink. His love for the outdoors and passion for travel further enrich his life outside of work, as noted by the City of Hilliard's announcement.
