The City of Clarksville has announced the opening of the application process for Retail Liquor Certificates of Compliance. Individuals or groups interested in operating a retail liquor store must apply through the City Clerk's Office, with full details available on the City of Clarksville’s official website.

A nonrefundable application fee of $250 is required. Applicants must not hold public office or be public employees. Each applicant must submit a valid driver’s license and complete a Local Agency Background History check.

The City Clerk will review each application for compliance with local ordinances. If the application meets all requirements, it will be presented to the City Council. Upon Council approval, the Mayor will endorse the Certificate of Compliance, which is then issued by the City Clerk.

For entities such as corporations, partnerships, or LLCs, the application must include the names of all individuals or entities with a direct or indirect interest in the business or its profits.

A new certificate is required if the business ownership or location changes, as outlined in Section 3-52 of the city code. Application materials, including identification and required documents, will be part of the public record.
