Cleveland Browns linebacker Devin Bush has been arrested on charges of simple assault and harassment following a domestic dispute in Bell Acres, Allegheny County. The incidents allegedly occurred on a Sunday morning, roughly 20 miles outside Pittsburgh. According to WPXI, Bush is charged with simple assault and harassment after a confrontation with his girlfriend, where it's claimed he pinned her against a massage table and attempted to forcefully take her phone.
Bush, who is 26 years old and re-signed with the Browns earlier this year, was released on non-monetary bail, and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 20. Despite Bush's admission to smashing the phone, he has denied the allegations of getting physical with the victim. He is entering his seventh season in the NFL, having been drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first round in 2019 and playing for them for four seasons. The NFL Network reported that after a stint with the Seattle Seahawks in 2023 and the Cleveland Browns in 2024, he recorded 76 tackles and a sack in 16 games last year.
A team spokesperson stated that the Browns, aware of the situation involving their linebacker, are currently gathering more information. These developments could also lead to NFL punishment for Bush, as players are subject to the league's Personal Code of Conduct. However, the NFL had not immediately responded to requests for comment on Bush's case.
