
Tragedy struck a Cocoa motel this past weekend when a man was killed in a violent attack. According to ClickOrlando, the incident occurred around 11 a.m. Sunday at the Cocoa Lofts motel located off Friday Road.
During what witnesses described as a brutal confrontation, bystanders intervened to assist the victim, who was attacked with a variety of weapons, including a knife, tire iron, and hammer. The alleged assailant was reported to be staying with the victim at the motel. "A man attacked another man who was staying with him at the motel, and several witnesses stepped in to help the victim during the attack," stated the Cocoa Police Department in detail to WFTV. The suspect's girlfriend cited a lack of sleep and schizophrenia as contributing factors to the suspect's behavior.
In relation to the violent encounter, the Cocoa Police Department has confirmed that the victim was taken to the hospital and, unfortunately, pronounced dead. WFTV reported that the suspect, who knew the victim, is currently in custody. Cocoa police informed the press, "Police said the suspect is facing several charges, including murder."
Although the full circumstances surrounding the deadly incident are not yet publicly clear, the investigation is vigorously ongoing.
