The Collin County Sheriff's Office and the Anna Texas Police Department recently joined forces to address community concerns about speeding along FM 455. In response to residents' complaints, the law enforcement agencies collaborated on a targeted traffic operation. Last Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., officers set out to tackle the issue head-on.
During the four-hour stint, law enforcement officials managed to quickly conduct a series of traffic stops along the stretch between Hwy 5 and SH 121. According to a social media post by the Collin County Sheriff's Office, the results were significant: 45 traffic stops resulted in 10 citations and 35 written warnings. The Collin County Sheriff's Office noted in their post, "When neighbors speak up, we listen."
The Collin County Sheriff's Office expressed their gratitude to the public for playing a role in keeping the streets safe, and they gave a heads-up about future operations. "Similar traffic operations are rolling out all across Collin County," the post stated, suggesting residents should be mindful of their speed on the roads. The message was clear: slow down, or risk joining the ranks of the stopped and cited.
