Columbus authorities have issued a warrant for Francisco Vallejo-Arevalo, who is now a fugitive wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of Erik Alcauter-Huitron. According to the official social media post by the Columbus Division of Police, the incident occurred during the afternoon last Saturday in the 3000 block of Kane Dr.
When police responded to a call at approximately 3:49 p.m., they discovered Alcauter-Huitron, aged 31, with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of first responders, Alcauter-Huitron was pronounced dead at 4:26 p.m. Detectives gathered that the fatal encounter stemmed from a longstanding romantic rivalry, as the victim and Vallejo-Arevalo were reportedly entangled in a dispute over a woman. Friends and family, providing insights to the detectives, hinted at a prevailing jealousy that may have culminated in the tragic event.
