Two juvenile suspects from Compton, CA, found themselves in custody after a botched burglary attempt in Alhambra, where a black van was used to reverse into a store near Main St. and Chapel Ave. A witness at the scene observed the suspects fleeing the location with two plastic bins in hand, hastily making their way southbound on Chapel Ave. According to the Alhambra Police Department's Facebook post, officers responded swiftly to the call and managed to apprehend the suspects nearby at Chapel and Baystate St.
Diligence on the part of the responding officers led to the discovery of evidence linking the individuals to the crime. One of the suspects had broken glass on his shoe, while the other was found to possess a headlamp and gloves in his pocket, these details adding weight to the allegations against them. Further complicating matters for the duo, their vehicle, which was central to the incident, had been reported stolen out of Carson, CA.
Following their detention, the Alhambra Police Department revealed the subsequent search and arrest, stating, "They came in like a wrecking ball (literally), but both juveniles from Compton, CA, ended up arrested and booked at APD Jail instead."
