Constable Mark Herman's deputies responded quickly when a theft was reported at a Walgreens on Holzwarth Road. They arrived on the scene fast and caught two people who had hidden items and left the store without paying, as reported by the Harris County Constable Precinct 4.
According to a Facebook post on Harris County Constable Precinct 4's Facebook page, the suspects, identified as Whitney Sylve and James Hogan — the latter a seasoned participant in the criminal justice system with a rap sheet to prove it — had not only taken their five finger discounts during that incident but had reportedly hit the same location thrice in the last month. Their month-long shopping spree, free of charge, came to a total of over $670.00 in merchandise.
"Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. James Hogan was charged with Felony Theft 2 or more Convictions and his bond has not been set at this time out of the 184th District Court. Whitney Sylve was charged with Theft and her bond was set at $100.00 out of County Court 11," the Harris County Constable Precinct 4's stated.
