In a recent turn of events surrounding the Dee Warner murder case, her children have taken legal action against their stepfather, Dale Warner. The lawsuit seeks $100 million in damages, alleging that he is responsible for her disappearance and subsequent death in 2021. As reported by FOX 2 Detroit, attorney Todd Flood argued at today's press conference that the funds Dale Warner has been spending belong to Dee Warner's children, not to "a killer" or his family.
Dee Warner's family has denounced Dale for his alleged actions and has subsequently filed a lawsuit representing Dee Warner’s estate, spearheaded by her daughter Rikkell Bock. Describing the legal efforts, Flood said to WXYZ, "Hopefully this day can move us closer so they can get closure, so they can find some justice for their mother." The lawsuit cites the family's entitlement to compensation for "loss of society, pain and suffering, exemplary damages, and all damages recoverable under Michigan’s Wrongful Death Act."
The investigation unfolded over several years, with origins tracing back to April 2021, when Dee Warner disappeared from her home in Tecumseh, Lenawee County. Remains were eventually discovered in an anhydrous ammonia tank on property owned by Dale Warner in August 2024. This led to Dale's arrest on charges of open murder and tampering with evidence, as he has been held since 2023, according to information detailed by MLive.
