Delta Airlines has reinstated its daily nonstop service from New York-JFK to Tel Aviv, beginning May 20, an Airbus A330-900neo will be back on this route. The flights to Ben Gurion Airport were initially put on hold due to rising tensions in the Middle East, with the carrier citing substantial security concerns for the temporary suspension, according to ABC7 New York.

The airline conducted "an extensive security risk assessment," before deciding to resume flights, and they have stated that they are continuously monitoring the situation, adapting their operations according to the latest security guidance, and intelligence reports, Delta News Hub reported. Additionally, the airline's global partners' seats will also be bookable as and when they become available.

In response to the travel disruptions, Delta has issued travel waivers for passengers with bookings to Tel Aviv between May 4 and May 25. Customers are eligible to rebook their flights and must initiate their travel no later than June 15.

Delta emphasized its commitment to traveler safety, "The decision to resume the route on May 20, which was temporarily suspended in response to the ongoing conflict in the region, follows an extensive security risk assessment by the airline," as conveyed by ABC7 New York. The airline also extended flexibility to its customers offering refunds and travel waivers under certain conditions, indicating that any further changes regarding their service to Tel Aviv would be communicated through Delta News Hub.
